Yu Yu Hakusho RPG: Remaining Memory’s settings is rather abstract. It takes place in a fractured and forgotten world, and its way of engaging with the Yu Yu Hakusho RPG focuses more on its own special mechanics and how they mix with Yu Yu’s base system to create a “dungeon crawler” experience rather than looking to tell a particular story. It’s centered around visiting surreal locations called ‘Memories’, which the party attempts to “solve” as they slowly rescue a variety of peculiar NPCs from them. Rescued NPCs are brought back to the party’s home base, “The Hamlet”, a location from which they gear up and prepare for future Memories, benefiting from the services of the aforementioned rescued NPCs, which slowly open up the path to more difficult and turbulent Memories.
Remaining Memories is designed to work well as a West Marches style campaign.
