Generalised to fit with (probably) any setting

Shamelessly pillaged from D&D 5e Dungeon Master's Guide, p27

1d9 Result

1

The Resolve: {rise|fall} of a Roll on "Leader type" Resolve: {leader|era} occurs.

2

A cataclysmic disaster strikes in the form of Roll on "Cataclysmic Disaster"!

3

There is an assault (or, on a larger scale - invasion) by Roll on "Invading Forces" on a town/city!

4

Resolve: {A city/town rebels|A major city has a revolution|The capital city is overthrown}!

5

Who (or what) is responsible for the loss? What are the immediate consequences of this loss? In the long term, who (or what) suffers the most, and who (or what) benefits the most?

6

A new faction emerges, in the form of Roll on "New Organisation"! They immediately begin to Roll on "New Organisation Actions"

7

Resolve: {Something is discovered|A faction decides to expand their influence|An invention is made}, in direct relation to Roll on "Discoveries". This discovery benefits a particular Resolve: {person|small group|faction} more than others - who stands to gain from this discovery? Which Resolve: {person|small group|faction}/s is/are harmed? Also name two or three individuals struggling to Resolve: {possess|control} this discovery - who is likely to win? What do they stand to gain, and what actions are they preparing to take (if they must) to win?

8

A Resolve: {prediction|prophecy} is made, causing factions to reconsider their current plans. Resolve: {Consider three (or more!) omens that will occur before the prophecy comes to pass. You could use events that have already occurred in the campaign, so that the event is closer to being fulfilled. The rest are events that may or may not happen, depending on the actions of the PCs. |}Describe the Resolve: {person|creature} that begun this event. What did they gain by revealing it? What did they lose/sacrifice? Also describe Resolve: {an individual|a faction} that supports the prophecy and works to ensure its fulfillment, and another Resolve: {individual|faction} that will do all in their power to avert the prophecy. What is the first step each take? Who suffers for their efforts? Resolve: {Finally, reveal (at a suitably dramatic moment) that part of the prophecy is wrong.|}

9

A myth/legend is raised to utmost importance. Roll again, and raise the potential grandeur of the events to the highest levels of epicality (it's a real word, I promise) imaginable.
