This dusty tome has ink-smeared notes on a whole host of different alchemical mixtures; flipping to the back of the book, the pages appear to be cut out such that you can place a potion bottle inside. Before a long rest, you can put a bottle filled with simple drinking water into this niche; the following morning, the contents of the bottle will have transmuted to another substance, explained in the margins of the hollowed-out pages, as determined by the chart below.
This transmutation only lasts for 24 hours, after which any unused liquids revert to their water form.
