AAA: A massive boon, something totally unexpected but incredibly lucky or valuable. It could be rescuing a previously unknown high-value prisoner, cargo worth far more than expected, or it could lead to an even bigger score. |
2-3 |
A: The rumor is 100% factual, perhaps even underselling the value of it in some way. |
4-8 |
B: The rumor is 90% factual. Maybe the take is a little lighter than was reported, someone wasn't quite where they were said to be, or the timeline is slightly off. |
9-14 |
C: The rumor is 70% accurate. Maybe the players need to do some more research, maybe the quantity of cargo was overstated, or perhaps the target had some unknown advantage. |
15-17 |
D: The rumor is 50% accurate. It could be a near total waste of time, very outdated, or a target could have been more powerful than reported. |
18-19 |
F: The rumor is false. Maybe it was never true, maybe it was true some time ago but no longer is, maybe it was a complete misunderstanding of a situation. |
20 |
FFF: This rumor is a deliberate lie. It is some sort of trap, ruse, or plan designed to bamboozle and misdirect the players. |
