Weak Magic Items (d100)

These items can be found in homes and business, but as useful as these items are, they are not found everywhere they should be. In a similar fashion to Utility Spells, these items are jealously guarded by the families that have and use them. They are never advertised or promoted, just their results. The have a weak magic field, and many go undetected by Detect Magic spells or items.

Bed, Bug-Proof

The bed will always be free of bedbugs, lice, fleas, ticks, etc.

Bedroll of Comfort

This bedroll is always soft and comfortable, even if laid across sharp pointed stones!

Blanket, Heating

This blanket will keep the user at 73° F for as long as he is under it.

Blanket, Lice-Proof

This blanket will keep the user lice-free.

Boots of Endurance

Allows user to walk without using any Effort or losing any Endurance.

Boots of Floating

These boots allow the wearer to walk on any liquid that isn’t boiling (or hotter). Speed is reduced by half as liquids do not give much traction.

Boots, Dry

These boots will always keep the wearer’s feet dry – even if walking through a stream!

These boots always keep a firm footing on ice.

Box, Food Preserving

A wooden box with a metal lining. Food stored within it will last twice as long.

When in a lighted area it will sweep the entire room, pulling everything into a pile. When in a dark room, like a closet, it remains still. Nor will it work in any artificial light like a candle or torch.

This wooden bucket holds 2.5 gallons of water. When dumped over someone’s head, it will wash their body, head to toe – and rinse, leaving them clean and fresh smelling. (Even if they are fully dressed!)

When lit, will repel any and all flying insects in a 3 hex radius.

Candles, Dark-Sensing

If in a candleholder, and it becomes dark enough to need light, these candles will light themselves. When daylight returns, they will snuff themselves as well. These candles can burn for up to 36 hours (2-3 nights use).

When placed in any candleholder, the candle will light itself instantly. These candles can burn for up to 6 hours.

When this cloth is cut and sewn into a garment, it will always fit the wearer – no matter their size. From extra small, to colossal, once the user begins to put on the garment, it will stretch or shrink to perfectly fit every time.

No matter what is poured into it, it will instantly be heated to 140° F. This is a comfortable drinking temperature and allows for fast drinking of a hot beverage.

Made of various sized rings, each connected with gold rings. There are 2 of every size ring and measure from a hairs’ diameter up to 3”. One ring is placed at the start of the hole, another at the holes finish. These holes need not be the same size. A hole will be drilled after the rings have been held in place for a full Moment. The shortest distance between the rings will be the direction and location of the hole drilled. A hole up to 1 hx long can be made. This only works on metals.

Initially a potion that is poured onto bits of wood and is then absorbed by that wood, turning it a bright orange and this is what the Firestarter is. When thrown into a pile of wood or kindling, it will burst into an extremely hot flame, catching the wood, or kindling into a nice fire in less than 1 Round.

Flagon of Chilling

No matter what is poured into it, it will instantly be cooled to 34° F.

Flagon, Bottomless

Just a splash of an alcoholic beverage is enough for this flagon to fill itself and remain full for as long as it is kept upright. When turned upside down, it will not spill, but it will be empty until another beverage is splashed into it.

Glasses of Focus

These glasses allow the wearer to see anything up close, up to 100 hexes away. Writing will be clear as well as fine details. Only the side of the object facing the wearer will be viewable. Wearer need only try to focus on the subject or object, and it will come into focus.

Wearing this hat for just a Moment will comb and style the users’ hair to a pleasant appearance. It will untangle, remove objects, and flatten the unruliest hair. It will not however wash or clean the hair other than to remove bigger objects such as leaves, lint, dirt clods, etc.

No matter how much is poured from it, it always has more water – though it never seems to be more than ¾ full.

Knife of the Blacksmith

A short blade and handle, made of a single piece of metal. When a line is scored around (all sides) a piece of metal with this blade, a simple tap will cut it. Works on any metal.

Knife of the Carpenter

A small, simple knife. When a line is scored across each face of a piece of timber, or its circumference if still a log, the wood will be cut to match. Once all the scoring has been done, a simple tap creates the cut. Quite complicated cuts and joinery can be achieved with this knife. Works on any wood.

Pan of Baking

Anything left in this pan for more than 10 minutes will begin to bake. The baking process will stop once the item is fully cooked. The outside of the pan never gets hot, only the inside.

Pillow, Sleep-inducing

When dark, this pillow will cause the user to sleep for 8 hours without waking. After 8 hours, it will awaken the user. If there is light, it will not cause user to sleep until it becomes dark again. If it is still dark, it will wait 10 Turns before allowing the user to sleep again. While on the pillow, the user cannot be awakened, but removal of the pillow causes the user to awaken instantly.

Place this pot on a fire, add 1 stone and some water and within half an hour a delicious broth will be made. The broth is always delicious, and always different! You can eat from this pot every day and never grow tired of it. So long as it is not emptied, the pot is bottomless as well, continuing with the same broth until either the stone is removed, or the pot is emptied.

Drag this through grass or other small ground cover and it will cut the plant to an even 2” height, shredding the clippings to help fertilize the plants as well and leaving a clean, “manicured” look.

When worn and the wearer touches another person with this ring, he will immediately know his name. Nothing else will be known except for maybe a nickname he frequently goes by.

Will allow rider to stay in the saddle no matter what his mount does. So he can never be thrown or fall out of this saddle. Works on any mount – Four-legged, two-legged, flying, swimming, etc.

Staff of Blowing

Point the small end of this staff at anything and it will be hit with a 10-mph wind! This isn’t enough to hurt anyone, but it does a great job of blowing dirt, leaves and other small objects on the ground into a convenient pile to be picked up and thrown away.

When dropped into any size container of water, the water will boil in 1 Round.

Stone, Freezing

When dropped into any size container of water, the water will be frozen solid in 1 Round.

Towel of Drying

This standard sized towel is super absorbent. It can get a normal human dry in 1 Round. After which it itself will be completely dry in 1 Round.
