Curses for the aspiring Necromancer (d10)

d10 Result

1

Veilslip

The castor occasionally glimpses the world of the dead. Brief visions, apparitions, fleeting shadows. Unsettling but not debilitating. Con Save or roll disadvantage on your next roll whatever it may be.

2

Stolen Name

The casters true name fades from records and minds. Social consequences, but potentially protective.

3

Eye of the dead
The caster can perceive the world through nearby corpses eyes. This may cause disorientation and dread, but offers occasional insights.

4

Corpse Magnet
Undead are drawn to the caster's presence.

5

Sleep Whispers

The casters dreams are filled with tormented voices that cause fatigue and mental strain. Long-term exposure may lead to madness or exhaustion.

Roll a D6:

1-3 You gain no benefits from resting and take disadvantage on your next d20 roll.

4-6 You recover normally but awaken uneasy.

For every failed rest, you take a madness effect as determined by the referee. (Screams before sleep, thinks party members are plotting against them, always listening for whispers, etc)

6

Blood price

Spellcasting at a cost. For every necromancy spell check passed, one party member or nearby NPC loses 1hp.

7

Ghouls Appetite
Instead of regular rations, the castor must consume raw flesh. Failure results in weakness and hallucinations. -1 to attack rolls

8

Withering Touch

Anything made up of naturally decaying materials rots when touched by the castor.

9

Flesh Unknitting

Wounds no longer mend through normal means. Only necrotic energy can restore the body. Castor heals 1d4 hp when a creature dies in near range.

10

Undeath Echo

Each necromantic casting may spontaneously summon a minor undead creature nearby. Can escalate over time.
